Hours of Carnival Operation:

  • Friday: 12:00pm – 11pm
  • Saturday: 10:00 am – 11:00 pm
  • Sunday: 10:00 am – 5:00 pm

Hours of Show Operation:

  • Gates Open at 8 a.m. on Friday, Saturday and Sunday
  • Arts & Crafts, Exhibits, Demonstrations and Displays close at 6 p.m. Friday-Saturday, 5 p.m. Sunday.
  • Truck Pulls: 7 p.m. Friday; 6 p.m. Saturday


$15 on Friday

$20 on Saturday

$10 for Senior Citizens 62 and older

Free for children 12 and younger

Block tickets — 10 for $100 can be obtained before the show. Call the office for details. No block tickets will be sold after noon on Thursday, Sept. 17, 2019.


Parking is free and available in the lot located on Route 622 across from the main Pedestrian Gate.  Over flow parking is also available Saturday only on Route 250 Broad Street, lot open only as needed. Message Boards will direct traffic to parking lot.


Trams are available to transport visitors from the parking lots to the gates free of charge. Handicapped individuals or those needing transports can request rides from staff on golf carts and can be picked up and dropped off at a specific location. Please free to ask a staff member for more information or help.

***Personal Golf Carts, Gators, or other vehicles are not permitted on the grounds per our insurance carrier.  You WILL NOT be able to operate these on the premises. Handicapped Scooter, and motorized Scooters are permitted.***


Show Grounds has a multitude of vendors that provide food. Check page 12 of the 2020 Survival Guide, only major food vendors are included. 



Field Day of the Past is a pet friendly show. Dogs must be leashed and be current on all vaccinations. Please be kind to other guests by cleaning up after your pet. Also, be aware that there are large crowds, loud noises, children, farm animals, and other dogs in attendance. If you don’t think your dog will be comfortable in this environment, please let them stay at home. We ask that no animals be left in cars.

There are many hotels in the area around the Field Day show grounds. Minutes away from shopping and dining in the Short Pump area and just a quick interstate drive to the capital of the Commonwealth or the “Center of the Universe” in Ashland, Va.
